Ltd. was recently awarded the Samman Patra award in 1998-99 at an Investiture ceremony held at the convention hall of Ashok Hotel. Mr. Shantu Karsandas Bhatia, Director, Tulsidas Khimji Pvt. Ltd, received the award from the hands of Mr. Javed A. Chowdry, Secretary, Revenue, Government of India. One of the oldest Custom House Agents (CHAs) of India, Tulsidas Khimji Pvt. Ltd has been awarded this special honour for its valuable contribution to Customs and Central Excise revenue in Delhi zone. The Union Finance Minister, Mr. Yashwant Sinha, who was the chief guest at the function, emphasised that the Samman scheme was to honour assesses and the Customs/Excise staff who contribute to encouraging tax compliance and boosting revenue collection as the government wanted to convert its role into a facilitator as well as being the revenue collector.
